TrimOS

// OVERVIEW

TrimOS started as a direct commission from the owner of Flip Flop Divers, a dive shop on Koh Lanta in Southern Thailand. He needed a single system to replace paper-based registrations, medical declarations, equipment inventory and dive waivers. Built over two months of close collaboration with the shop, the system went live and continues to run the shop's daily operations to this day. TrimOS has since been developed into a polished generic demo platform at demo.bakewelldigital.com, where prospective clients can explore a full dive centre management system with provisioned access. Every TrimOS deployment is purpose-built around the specific workflow and requirements of each individual shop.

// CHALLENGE

Dive centres are operationally complex but traditionally run on clipboards, paper forms and disconnected spreadsheets. Registrations, medical declarations, equipment sign-outs and dive waivers are all handled manually, creating room for error, lost records and a slow customer experience. The owner of Flip Flop Divers wanted all of that paper removed from the business entirely.

// APPROACH

Built from scratch using React, Node.js and SQLite, TrimOS is structured around six smart modules covering customer registration, medical history, equipment inventory, booking management, digital waivers and reporting. Every module was developed in direct collaboration with the shop owner, iterating on real workflow requirements rather than assumptions. Role-based access controls ensure staff see only what is relevant to their role, and the system runs as both a web application and a standalone desktop app via Electron.

// OUTCOME

The system went live at Flip Flop Divers and replaced every manual process in the shop. Registrations, medicals and equipment flows are fully digital, and the platform has been running the shop's daily operations without issue ever since. TrimOS has since been developed into a showcase demo at demo.bakewelldigital.com, giving prospective clients a hands-on look at what a tailored dive centre management system can do.
